Christopher Papp, M.D.
Dr. Papp is a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. He also treats all major vision threatening diseases of the eyes including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, as well as routine visual and eye-related problems of all ages. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons as well as the Michigan State Medical Society.
Dr. Papp grew up in West Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biophysics. He then attended the Medical College of Ohio for his Medical Doctorate, finishing with the ophthalmology award for excellence as a medical student in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Papp did his internship in Grand Rapids, MI through Michigan State University. His residency in Ophthalmology was at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, in affiliation with Columbia University and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Papp has years of experience using the most modern lens implants including toric and multifocal. He performs bloodless, painless surgery with out the need for deep sedation.
Dr. Papp lives in Ann Arbor with his wife, three daughters, and son. He is an avid Wolverine and sports lover, especially soccer.
